PCG: Joint inspection team of PNP and PCG successfully apprehended a vehicle with plate number AEC 6517 which was owned by Mayor Lorenzo Mañigos of Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte last Saturday, August 19, 2017 after being found to be carrying deadly weapons onboard.

Said apprehension resulted from the request of PNP Ozamis Station to Coast Guard Station (CGS) Ozamis for the conduct of panel inspection to the subject vehicle.

CGS Ozamis immediately directed personnel of Coast Guard K9 Ozamis, MEPO with CGK9 Dog “Niña” to conduct panel inspection to the subject vehicle and found three (3) hand grenades and one (1) jungle knife concealed beneath the passenger’s seat.

The Mayor was subjected to initial investigation and documentation and was later brought to PNP Ozamis City Station together with his vehicle and all the confiscated items for filing of appropriate charges.
