PCG: Joint personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Cadiz and with 615th Coast Guard Auxillary Squadron (CGAS) are still in search for a drowned victim at the vicinity waters Himogaan River, Sangay City, Negros Occidental last August 28.
Accordingly, personnel of (CCSS) Cadiz received called from Lieutenant Junior Grade Bernie Mahusay, a member of the 605th Philippine Coast Guard Auxillary Squadron of Sangay City who reported that a certain Mr Gedion Remeteo, 30 years old, and a resident of Brgy. Paraiso, Sangay City went on a swimming venture at the abovementioned area. Unfortunately, due to strong current in the area, the victim was swept away into the deeper portion and subsequently drowned.
Immediately, joint team conduct a Search and Rescue (SAR) Operation and scoured the said area but yielded negative results.
However, search operation was temporarily terminated due to poor visibility and will continue if the weather permits.
Likewise, CGSS also advised all water crafts and vessels transiting in the vicinity to be on the look-out of the said missing person and to report immediately to the nearest Coast Guard Unit, if sighted.
