PCG: Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Calayan continues its search for a reported missing fisherman at Dalupiri Island, Calayan, Cagayan last Monday, August 21.

Information received from a certain Mr Emmanuel Rumias, a resident of Brgy. Poblacion in Calayan reported that M/B “AD Asia” with one crew onboard was missing. The missing crew was identified as Mr Edgar Espejo, 37 year old and a resident of Brgy. Dalupiri, Calayan.

According to Mr Rumias, the said motorbanca departed at Sitio Catulayan, Brgy. Magsidel in Calayan bound to Dalupiri, Calayan but failed to return home since.

Immediately, CGSS Calayan conducted search and rescue (SAR) operation together with Local Government Unit Calayan at vicinity waters between Camiguin Island up to Euga Island but yielded negative results.

The search was temporarily terminated due to unfavorable sea condition and will continue if the weather permits.

CGSS Calayan also advised all watercrafts and vessels transiting in the vicinity to be on the look-out of the said missing person and to report immediately to the nearest Coast Guard unit if sighted.
