PCG. Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Olotayan together with BantayDagat of Barangay Olotayan rescued three fishermen in Barangay Baruy, Roxas City last September 16.

Reports received from PNP Roxas personnel that a fishing banca “KuyaCardo” capsized along the vicinity waters off said barangay. 

Accordingly said boat with three fishermen onboard namely Danny Alcones, 51 years old; Nelson Candido, 34 years old; and Nestor Ardenio, 54 years old departed Barangay Dumologat around 6:30AM to conduct fishing activity. While throwing their fishing gear, it fell in the boat’s bamboo outrigger causing it to capsize.

Immediately, search and rescue team of CGSS Olotayan and BantayDagat conducted search and rescue (SAR) operations. The SAR team sighted the fishermen clinging to the capsized fishing banca and subsequently rescued them. 

The team towed the capsized fishing banca to the shoreline of BrgyDumolog while the rescued fishermen were turned over to Capiz Emergency Response Team (CERT) for necessary medical attention.
