PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) El Nido continues its search after a man was reported to be drowned and went missing after a swimming venture at Lio Beach Resort, El Nido, Palawan last October 16.

The victim was identified as Mr. Rafael Canillas Jr, 30 years old, a resident of Novaliches, Quezon City went on a swimming venture together with his three colleagues. Due to the strong current, Canillas was suddenly swept into the deeper portion of the sea and disappeared. 

At 12:30 PM of October 16, CGSS El Nido conducted an underwater Search and Rescue operations together with K9 Unit El Nido at the vicinity waters of said area but yielded negative results.

Due to strong current and poor visibility prevailing in the area, the search was temporarily terminated and will continue the following day if weather permits.

Further, the team advised all watercrafts transiting in the area to be on the look-out for possible sighting of the victim and to immediately report to the nearest PCG units if sighted.
