PCG: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Rio Tuba is still searching for a person who went missing after reportedly being mauled by a crocodile while gathering shells at the shoreline at Marambuwaya, Barangay Iwahig, Bataraza, Palawan on All Saints Day.
The victim was identified as Mrs. Teresa Labrador, a resident of the said barangay.
Accordingly, personnel of CGSS Rio Tuba established contact to the sons of the victim namely, Mr. Raul and Teddy Labrador, to meet at vicinity waters off Iwahig River together with other relatives. Her son, Teddy disclosed that Mrs. Labrador was allegedly attacked by a crocodile in the shallow waters off Iwahig River Mangrove Area.
Upon receiving the report, CGSS Rio Tuba immediately conducted search and retrieval operation at said area but yielded with negative result.
CGS Rio Tuba advised all nearby coastal barangays and all motor banca/vessels transiting in the vicinity to be on the look-out for the possible sighting of the said missing victim and to report immediately to the nearest Coast Guard unit.
