PCG: Four persons onboard fishing banca ”Daniela” composed of two passengers, the boat captain and a crew were rescued by personnel of Coast Guard Sub-station (CGSS) Talicud at the vicinity waters off Sitio Baybay, Brgy Sta Cruz, Talicud Island approximately 150 meters away from the shoreline after she accidentally capsized due to an allision incident last December 16.

A concerned citizen named Radja Bajada, 14 year-old and resident of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Talicud Island reported to CGSS Talicud that he sighted a capsized fishing banca at the said vicinity. 

Immediately, CGSS Talicud personnel conducted search and rescue operations and successfully rescued the 4 victims onboard the distressed fishing banca.

Investigation revealed that Fbca Daniela was hired by the two passengers to ferry them from Brgy Sta Cruz, Talicud Island to Kaputian, Igacos. While underway, she accidentally hit a floating buoy without navigational light which caused her to capsize. 

The rescued persons have safely returned to their respective families and in good physical condition.
