PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Sub-station Ubay together with Ubay Bantay Dagat and Municipal Fisheries Aquatic Resources Management Council recovered a dead body at the vicinity waters of Tapal, Ubay, Bohol this morning, December 26.

The cadaver was identified as Mr Enelito L Permitez, 31-year old and resident of Brgy Fatima, Ubay, Bohol. He was reported missing after his unregistered motor banca capsized at the vicinity waters of Purok 6, Union, Ubay, Bohol last December 24.

Said motor banca departed Tapal Wharf, Union, Ubay enroute to Sitio Popoo, President Carlos P Garcia Bohol with nine (9) passengers onboard to attend a birthday and Christmas party. While underway at approximately 800 meters away from the wharf, the motor banca suddenly encountered engine trouble and was battered by big waves causing her to capsize.

Eight (8) passengers were successfully rescued by a concerned citizen and were immediately brought to shoreline. A 4-year old child named May Princess Permitez, one of the passengers, was declared dead on arrival at Don Emilio Hospital in Ubay, Bohol.

Both cadavers were brought to Funeraria Gomez for proper disposition.
