Four (4) fishermen onboard fishing banca βAminaβ were rescued by joint elements of Coast Guard Sub-station Glan and PNP Maritime Group after their vessel accidentally went half-submerged at vicinity waters approximately 2 nautical miles of Sumbang Point, Glan, Sarangani Province last 05 January.
At 5:55 am of the same day, PO2 Rordilo Limen of PNP Maritime Group reported the incident to CGSS Glan.
Immediately at 6am, CGSS Glan personnel launched its aluminum boat AB β231 and proceeded to the reported area of incident together with PNP Maritime Group personnel to conduct search and rescue operations.
At 7:30 am, the team sighted the 4 fishermen onboard the distressed fishing banca and subsequently towed them safely back to Glan Port, Sarangani Province. The rescued fishermen were then given immediate medical attention.
Inquiry to the rescued fishermen revealed that they departed Brgy Baliton, Glan, Sarangani Province enroute to Gensan Fishport, Tambler, General Santos City and was carrying more or less 700 kilograms of White Bait Fish (DILIS) when it suddenly encountered big waves in the area, causing the fishing banca to take in seawater and to submerge partially.
The four (4) rescued were found to be in good physical condition and were identified as follows:

2. Bernardo L Bonador Jr. 42 years old Brgy. Baliton, Glan, Sarangani
3. Herodin J Balang 29 years old Brgy. Baliton, Glan, Sarangani
4. Muskin Y Sinosa 17 years old Brgy. Baliton, Glan, Sarangani
