PCG. A fisherman identified as Rudy Zita was found lifeless after their fishing boat capsized at vicinity waters off Brgy. Bato-bato, Narra, Palawan on January 21.

Investigation revealed that Zita together with Mr Nazer Baldado went on fishing venture on January 20 in the said barangay and encountered unfavorable weather condition that causes the boat to capsize. Baldado was able to swim towards the shoreline and reported the incident to Brgy Capt Ernesto Ferrer who then subsequently relayed the information to personnel of Coast Guard Sub-station Narra for assistance leaving Zita missing.

The Coast Guard personnel together with barangay kagawad immediately conduct search and rescue operation onboard PCG aluminum boat for the missing fisherman Zita and was later found lifeless. Said cadaver was turned over to the bereaved family for proper disposition.

Coast Guard personnel also advised the local fisher folks to take extra precautionary measures while on fishing activities and not to venture out sea anymore if the weather and sea conditions are unfavorable to prevent similar accidents in the future.
