PCG. A Motor Vessel Lady Mary Joy 1, with 38 crew and 307 passengers onboard ran aground at vicinity waters off Tampat Point, Bongao yesterday, February 18.

Investigation revealed that MV Lady Mary Joy 1 of 671.15 Gross Tonnage departed Zamboanga City bound to Bongao on Feb 18 and accidentally aground at the vicinity waters of Tampat Point at 7:30PM. 

Immediately, personnel of Coast Guard Station Bongao together with PNP Maritime Group and Philippine Navy conducted search and rescue operations onboard aluminum boat AB-268 and PG-28. 

All passengers and crew were safely rescued and transported to the nearby shoreline. PCG also advised the captain of the motor vessel to file a marine protest relative to the incident.
