PCG: A 43-year old fisherman and his son remained missing in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur three days after they left Barangay Daklapan Sur for a fishing venture.

Rogelio Ancheta and his 21 year old son, John Kevin Tisbe, went fishing 20 nautical miles West of Cabugao last February 17 aboard M/Bca Six Roses but failed to return on the same date.

Upon receipt of information, the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Salomague immediately conducted search and rescue (SAR) operations for Ancheta and Tisbe and scoured the waters of Cabugao, Sinait, Ilocos Sur and Bacod, Ilocos Norte.

The team terminated the SAR operations due to strong waves and unfavorable sea condition in the area. The team also advised all fishing boats and motor bancas transiting in the area to be on the lookout on the said missing fishermen and render necessary assistance and report to the nearest PCG unit if sighted.
