A motorbanca John Kevin accidentally capsized at vicinity waters off Sipocot, Camarines Sur after she was battered by big waves while enroute to Brgy. San Vicente from Brgy. Manga, Sipocot, Camarines Sur on February 24 at 7:30pm.

F/INSP RAMON GREGORIO BFP of PNP Camsur reported the incident to CGS Camarines Sur at 8:20pm of the same day.

Said vessel was carrying 21 passengers and 1 crew onboard composed of a political party headed by Congressman Rolando Andaya Jr. and a medical team who were supposed to conduct medical mission in Brgy. San Vicente, Sipocot, Camarines Sur.

CGS Camarines Sur and CGSS Pasacao immediately coordinated with LGU of Sipocot and dispatched a SAR team composed of CGSS Camaligan personnel onboard a fiber boat to the area of incident to conduct search and rescue operation to the distressed passengers.

20 passengers were reportedly rescued, one (1) casualty while another one is still missing from the said capsizing incident.

The rescued victims were brought to Municipal Health Office of Sipocot for medical examination and were subsequently sent home to their respective families.
