M/V Lady Aimme capsized and went half submerged at vicinity waters approximately one (1) nautical mile from the shoreline of Gumaca, Quezon while enroute to Quezon, Quezon at 3:45pm today, February 26.

Initial reports from Coast Guard Sub-Station Gumaca disclosed that M/V Lady Aimme departed Gumaca Port at 3:30pm.

At 3:45pm, CGSS Gumaca received a report that subject motorbanca capsized.

At 4:00pm, the Coast Guard dispatched a SAR team to conduct a search and rescue operations to all the persons onboard the distressed motorbanca.

Three (3) casualties identified as female elderlies were retrieved by the SAR team.

As of 9pm, 62 survivors composed of passengers and crew were reportedly rescued and were immediately brought to Gumaca Hospital for necessary medical attention.

PCG is still verifying reports that the cause of the capsizing incident is due to big waves which hit the M/V Lady Aimme.
