PCG: The oiler of a ro-ro vessel in Dumangas, Iloilo was declared dead by Ramon Duremdez Hospital on the same day that he was found unconscious by his chief engineer.

The victim, identified only as Mr. Generan, was found unconscious in his cabin by C/E Raul Almadin while LCT Holy Family Navistar was transiting the Bacolod-Iloilo waters.

The incident was immediately reported by Nancy Be, owner of Tri-Star Megalink Corporation, to the personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Dumangas. The Coast Guard then coordinated with Rescue 24/7 of Dumangas , boarded the vessel upon its arrival in Dumangas Port, and assisted the PNP personnel in the disembarkation of Generan's body.

The duty physician of Ramon Duremdez Hospital declared him dead on arrival. His remains were brought to St. Peter Funeral Homes for proper disposition.
