PCG: Initial information from Coast Guard District Palawan disclosed that LCT Marc Jason 2, a cargo vessel owned and operated by Jomalia Shipping Corp, with 12 crew on board went half submerged yesterday, March 17 at around 2:30 am while anchored at the vicinity pier of Berong, Palawan. The Captain decided to anchor after loading Nickel ore because of the bad weather. While anchored, the ship's cargo access door was hit by bigwaves causing flooding inside. The ship eventually sank and presently half submerged. PCG personnel from Brookspoint is monitoring the incident and already laid oil spill boom around the vessel.
