PCG: A 22-year old man under the influence of alcohol jumped to his death in Jala-Ur river in Iloilo last April 4. 

The victim, identified as Reynald Perez, was reportedly drinking with his friends along the river's shoreline when he suddenly jumped into the water. 

After an hour of failing to resurface, his companions reported the incident to the Philippine Coast Guard who then immediately launched its Deployable Response Team composed of personnel from Coast Guard Station (CGS) Iloilo and Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron medics.

The team recovered Perez's unconscious body after five hours of search operations. First aid treatment to revive the victim yielded negative results and he was brought to Dumangas District Memorial Hospital where he was later declared dead on arrival.
