PCG. Joint personnel from Coast District Western Visayas (CGDWV) Medical Team headed by CAPT LUZ C ESCARILLA PCG and Coast Guard Station (CGS) Iloilo together with representative of Bureau of Customs and Quarantine successfully evacuated a sick crew of M/T Bunga Allium at Sinapsapan Point in Guimaras Island, Thursday evening of May 12, 2016.

According to reports, subject crew identified as Mr Benito Adecer, 56 years old, Filipino National and Chief Engineer of M/T Bunga Allium was suffering extreme pain on his lower abdomen and in need of immediate medical evacuation. Immediately, CGDWV Medical Team and CGS Iloilo personnel onboard M/L Salvor proceeded to the rendezvous area at approximately 3 nautical miles southwest of Sinapsapan Point, Guimaras Island where the vessel dropped anchor. Upon arrival at said area, the team boarded subject vessel and examined the patient. It was found out that Mr Adecer was suffering from severe appendicitis.

Around 6:30 pm of same date, medical evacuation team transferred the patient from M/T Bunga Allium to M/L Salvor bound to Lapuz Wharf in Iloilo City. They arrived safely at said wharf around 8:25 pm and transferred the patient to the waiting ambulance of Iloilo City Emergency Responder (ICER) and was brought to Iloilo Doctors Hospital for proper medical attention.

M/T Bunga Allium, a Malaysian flagged oil/chemical tanker with 25,709 gross tonnages was enroute from China bound to Malaysia as her next port of call when the incident transpired.
