PCG: A security guard of the Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Company (RTNMC) was found dead along the vicinity waters of Sitio Biya-Biya, Brgy. Taratak, Bataraza, Palawan last Friday, May 13.

Residents of Sitio Tagdulangon reported to the Coast Guard that Melvin Guillermo, 24, jumped off Bintayin Wharf near the Coastway Pier last Thursday and was missing since.
 
Rescuers of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Rio Tuba immediately searched for Guillermo onboard AB-081. A day-long search of the vicinity waters of Sitio Tagdulangon and Sitio Marabahay yielded negative results, meanwhile, the fishermen transiting the said areas were told to remain vigilant for the missing security guard.

Guillermo’s cadaver was sighted the following day by the Navy’s patrol craft at the waters of Sitio Biya-Biya and was retrieved by the Coast Guard.
 
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) of Bataraza and PNP-Maritime Group in Rio Tuba proceeded to the area and conducted investigation to local residents.
 
The PCG SAR team turned-over Guillermo’s body to SPO4 Agustin Aban of PNP-Bataraza for proper disposition.
