PCG: A distressed motor banca which requested the assistance of the Coast Guard in Dauin, Negros Oriental was discovered to have several maritime violations and was later apprehended.

M/Bca Rosefel 2 called the Coast Guard Station (CGS) Dumaguete to request assistance after it went dead on water due to a faulty engine.

The distressed boat was monitored and assisted back to shore by CGS Dumaguete and Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Larena. Upon arrival in Escanio Beach, it was found out that M/Bca Rosefel 2 failed to submit a Master's Declaration of Safety Departure (MDSD) and that its insurance and Passenger Ship Safety Certificate (PSSC) are already expired.

It was also discovered that the said boat left the port without departure clearance from the PCG.

The Coast Guard issued an Inspection Apprehension Report to the boat.

It was skippered by Frederick Jaluag and Marine Diesel Mechanic Ernie Taneo. It was also carrying 10 crew and dive masters onboard.
