PCG: Approximately 30 sacks of debris contaminated with oil water mixture was collected at the vicinity waters off Pescador Resort, Panagsaba in Moalboal Cebu, yesterday June 10 at around 10:50 in the evening.

Reports from Coast Guard District Central Visayas disclosed that Mr. Julius Camerino of Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported to Coast Guard Station Cebu that an oil spill from an unknown source was sighted at the waters of Pescado Resort. Immediately, Coast Guard Substation Tangil together with MEPEU-Cebu proceeded to the area to check the veracity of the report.

Upon arriving at the reported scene of incident, they found the oil spill covering the shoreline more or less 3 kilometers in length and immediately conducted oil spill clean-up operations.

At 5AM today, the team immediately went back to the incident area to conduct foot patrol and surface inspection within the vicinity and to the adjacent areas and found negative presence of oil. They also conducted maritime patrol and found out no more sightings of oil sheen in the area.
