PCG. A Panamanian-flagged motor vessel “M/V Belle Rose” reportedly ran aground at vicinity waters of Monad shoal, approximately four (4) nautical miles Southeast off Malapascua Island, Daanbantayan, Cebu at 3AM today, June 13.

Initial reports revealed that CGS Cebu received a text message at 8:32 this morning from a certain Mr Gary Casis, a resident of Malapascua that he received a report from Mr Gille, bantay-dagat of Monad Shoal informing that a cargo vessel ran aground at the said vicinity.

Immediately, CGS Cebu personnel directed CGSS Hagnaya to provide necessary assistance to the aground vessel. Coast Guard also alerted SARV-001 and DF- 318 for a possible dispatch.

M/V Belle Rose was said to be loaded with an undetermined quantity of cement and bound to San Fernando Port in Naga, Cebu.
