PCG. Fishing vessel “F/V Tobias Reynald” caught fire while undergoing repair at the floating dry dock in Navotas Fish Port yesterday, June 14 at 4:35PM. 

Initial inquiry revealed that the fire started at the pilot house where hot work was being conducted by the crew which also affected part of the bridge. 

Immediately, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-station Navotas coordinated with Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to combat the fire. Two (2) tugboats have combatted the fire with no reported casualty and fire was declared under control at 5:50PM of the same day.

At present, the responding firefighting teams from PCG and BFP are still on standby in the area onboard the four (4) Skip Boats to further observe the vessel. 

PCG also advised the master of the vessel to file a Marine Protest relative to the incident.
