PCG: M/V Belle Rose was successfully extracted from its agrounding position off Monad Shoal in Malapascua, Cebu today. 

Salvors extricated the aground ship at 10:12 a.m. today.

According to the salvor company, the testing of the ship’s main engine was satisfactory, thus, the vessel proceeded to San Fernando, Cebu using its own propulsion and was escorted by three tugboats.

M/V Belle Rose is expected to arrive in San Fernando tomorrow where the Port State Control authorities will inspect and detain the ship for several deficiencies in its bottom hull, ballast system and International Safety Management (ISM) system compliance.

A maritime casualty investigation will likewise be completed.
