PCG: An elderly man was found dead 10 meters away from the shoreline of Iloilo River yesterday, June 26.

The victim was identified as Oscar Gonzaga, 67, single, and a resident of Barangay Libertad, Lapuz, Iloilo.

His cadaver was seen floating at the area by PO2 Helberto Gallaza PCG at 5:49 AM and was immediately recovered by the Special Operations Unit and Deployable Response Group of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Iloilo. 

Investigation revealed that Gonzaga was last seen walking along Libertad Street near the Philippine Ports Authority fast craft terminal the night before he died.

His remains were turned-over to his sister, Cecil Dula, 59 years old and was subsequently brought to Custodio Funeral Services for proper disposition.
