Nineteen (19) Officers and crew onboard Barge “Castor 2” was successfully transferred by Coast Guard Station Tagbilaran personnel to M/Tug “Pollux 5” after the said barge ran aground at approximately 85 meters away from the shoreline of Momo Beach.

Said vessel was loaded with 2,000 cubic meters of gravel and sand and was enroute to Panglao, Bohol from Tandayag, Negros Oriental.

While transiting at vicinity waters off Santander, Cebu, she was suddenly hit by big waves and strong winds which cause the starboard side of the barge to go half-submerged and subsequently ran aground at the shallow waters of Momo Beach, Panglao, Bohol.

CGSS Panglao advised the master of the vessel to file a marine protest relative to the incident and likewise, coordinated with LGU Panglao for other environmental concerns.
