PCG personnel onboard SARV-3502 (BRP Nueva Vizcaya) successfully evacuated a Romanian crew onboard a Malta-flagged bulk carrier “M/V Anangel Victory” at vicinity waters off Hamilo Point in Cavite today at 7:50 am.
Pocora Valentin, 38 years old, Valentin accidentally fell off the ladder and suffered a severe head injury yesterday, August 3.
The ship’s master, Captain Chaiviaras Panteleimon, immediately sent an email to the Coast Guard Action Center in Manila to request immediate medical evacuation of the said ailing crew.
Coast Guard District National Capital Region - Central Luzon directed SARV-3502 (BRP Nueva Vizcaya) to rendezvous M/V Anangel Victory at vicinity waters near Hamilo Point. She departed at 2:15 am today.
Mr. Minos Gianopoulos, the ship’s company representative in the Philippines provided an ambulance and surgeon to assist the injured crew upon his disembarkation at Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila.
The injured Romanian crew was transferred to SARV-3502 enroute to Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila and arrived thereat at 10:43am.
The victim was immediately brought to Makati Medical Doctors Hospital for further medical attention and treatment.
