PCG: 19 passengers of a capsized motor boat in Concepcion, Iloilo were successfully rescued by the Coast Guard and a passing motorboat yesterday, August 6. 

M/Bca Nonoy Jr was rented by the passengers to transport them from Brgy. Nipa, Concepcion to Bulubandiangan Island.

Rough seas battered their boat, however, until it capsized.

The incident was reported to Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Concepcion by the Municipal Bantay Dagat and a response team was immediately deployed by the PCG to save the passengers. 

The PCG's rescue team sighted seven passengers clinging onto the upturned motor boat and plucked them out of water.

Their 12 other companions, meanwhile, were already rescued by a passing motor boat and were brought to the shoreline of Sitio Puntalis, Brgy. Nipa, Concepcion.

Meanwhile, the capsized motor banca was towed back to Concepcion Fishing Port, Concepcion, Iloilo City for repair while all passengers are in good physical condition.
