PCG: Motor vessel Trisha Kerstin 2, a passenger/cargo vessel owned and operated by Aleson Shipping Lines INC, and skippered by Captain Joel P Mendoza was apprehended by PCG through Joint Law Enforcement Operations conducted by, VSEI Team of Coast Guard Station Zamboanga, FS Personnel, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Regional Office 9 (BFAR-RIX) and City Agriculture Office yesterday, September 09 upon arrival at Zamboanga City Port.

According to the report, vessel Trisha Kerstin 2 was allegedly carrying prohibited shark’s fin/meat from Bongao, Tawi-tawi to Port of Zamboanga City.

Thereafter, the team successfully apprehended and found out two (2) perishable crate box containing the following:

• more or less two (2) tons of assorted fish
• one (1) butanding
• four (4) classes of specie
• sharks tail – 38 pcs
• shark fins – 20 pcs
• butanding tail-3 pcs

Ship’s crew failed to present BFAR Permit. VSEI Team issued seizure receipt and certificate of orderly inspection to the master of said vessel.

The marine products will be turned-over to the custody of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Zamboanga City for proper disposition.
