Coast Guard Station Bataan personnel confiscated undocumented logs/lumber at the vicinity waters off Brgy Alas-asin, Mariveles, Bataan last October 24.

Said logs were categorized as a premium class of hardwood estimated to be about 2,100 BDFT with a market value of approximately Php. 168,000.00.

While conducting maritime patrol in the area, the team sighted an unlighted motorbanca which looked suspiciously conducting illegal activities.

The team maneuvered to approach the said motorbanca when her crew suddenly cut the towing rope and sped off towards the direction heading to Manila.

The team was able to recover the towing rope, and towed the undocumented lumber towards the anchorage area of Lamao, Limay, Bataan.

CGS Bataan has made coordination with the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO Bataan) for proper accounting and disposition of the logs.
