PCG: Two fishermen were arrested in Bulan, Sorsogon last Friday, 18 November for illegal fishing.

Rommel and Arnold Escobar were found by authorities fishing at the vicinity waters of Bulan and discovered that they have no permit to operate at the said municipal waters of Sorsogon.

Investigation revealed that the suspects traveled from Masbate to Sorsogon onboard F/Bca Baby King. Their boat is owned and operated by a certain Alfredo Escobar, a resident of Cauayan, Masbate.

They were apprehended by the joint maritime patrol team of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Bulan, Municipal Agriculture Office, local police and Bantay Dagat.

The PCG team issued a Certificate of Orderly Inspection to the crew who were later detained at the municipal police station. Meanwhile, the boat was detained under the custody of Bulan Municipal Agriculture Office.
