The Philippine Coast Guard, through the Office of the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Marine Environmental Protection, CG-9 together with Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM) conducted a 2 day seminar on Information Dissemination on the newly approved Memorandum Circulars (MCs) held at the Hub @ Kilometer Zero, Manila on 11-12 November 2015. 

The seminar was participated by Philippine Coast Guard officers and non-officers from different Coast Guard Districts and Stations, MEPCOM, Marine Environmental Protection Unit (MEPU) and MAREP Class 23-2015 composed of students from Coast Guard Education and Training Command (CGETC), Maritime Safety Services Command (MSSC), Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics and Information System Service (CGWCEISS), National Coast Watch Center (NCWC) and Headquarters Support Group (HSG).

CAPT ROBEN N DE GUZMAN PCG and LCDR MAY B MARFIL PCG of Office of DCS-MEP (CG-9) together with LCDR GODOFREDO G VAGILIDAD PCG and LT PATRICK G BABAG PCG gave a lecture on the five (5) newly approved memorandum circulars pertaining to Prevention of Pollution from Garbage, Tank Cleaning, Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP), Sewage and Dumping which were signed last December 2014 and published last February 2015.

The Office of DCS for MEP, CG-9 will continue to conduct these seminars in various PCG Districts to give awareness and continuing knowledge to PCG personnel with regard to the newly approved MCs for an efficient and effective implementation of laws and regulations governing marine environmental protection.
