PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Sub-Station Larena successfully escorted Mbca “Ej Louie” to safety after it went dead on the water at the vicinity waters off Brgy. Cang-Alwang in Siquijor on December 8, 2015.
A certain Ms. Ellen Padayhag reported to the Coast Guard on December 8 at 5:00 pm that her nephew, Stephen Jhon Padayhag encountered engine trouble while he was conducting fishing venture at the said vicinity.
CGSS Larena immediately coordinated with Ms. Blezel Omicin, Chairman of Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) Siquijor and requested for the availability of its ambulance rescue boat to be utilized on the search and rescue operations.
At 6 pm of the same day, while the SAR team was conducting search and rescue operation to the distressed motor banca, they sighted Mbca Ej Louie navigating and immediately escorted the vessel to the mainland of Siquijor.
Padayhag disclosed to the Coast Guard that he was able to repair his motorbanca then immediately proceeded back to Siquijor Port in good physical condition.
