PCG:  Elements of Coast Guard Sub-station Talampulan is still searching for F/B Princess Miguel 3 with eleven (11) fishermen onboard who went missing after their motorbanca encountered engine trouble and subsequently went dead on the water at vicinity 31 nautical miles West Northwest of Sta. Rita, Busuanga Beach Lot, Busuanga island, Palawan last December 15, 2015.

The incident was reported by the Maritime Research Information Center (MRIC) thru e-mail to Coast Guard Action Center (CGAC) at 8PM of the same day. CGAC then relayed the incident report to Coast Guard Station Coron.

Immediately, CGSS Talampulan dispatched a SAR team onboard Mbca Siete owned and operated by Mr. Ronnie Serrano to conduct search and rescue operations to the missing fishing vessel.

After almost one (1) hour of scouring the waters between West Nalaut and Malajun Island, Busuanga, Palawan, which was more or less 5 nm from Barangay Panlaitan, Busuanga, Palawan, the team encountered unfavorable weather and sea conditions brought about by typhoon “NONA” which made them decide to temporarily suspend the SAR operations and thereby returned to the sub-station. The SAR operations will resume as soon as the weather permits.

Further, CGSS Talampulan advised all ships and watercrafts transiting within the area to be on the look-out for the distressed fishing vessel and if sighted, render necessary assistance and report immediately to the nearest PCG unit.
