PCG: MV Star Dinagat, a cargo vessel with 24 crew onboard and loaded with 7,800 bags of cement accidentally ran aground at the vicinity waters five (5) meters away from the shoreline of Sitio Gasang, Mabini, Batangas after she encountered strong winds and big waves last December 16, 2015.

Capt. Jefferson Andres, 71 years old and master of the said vessel reported the grounding incident to the Coast Guard Sub-station Mabini at 9AM of the same date.

CGSS Mabini personnel boarded and inspected the aground vessel for possible oil spill but yielded negative result. 

Further, the master of the vessel informed the team that they are waiting for the two (2) tugboats to assist them for towing and also accredited divers by MARINA to conduct under water hull inspection.
