PCG: Two separate drowning incidents were reported last Sunday, January 18, involving a fisherman and a six-year old boy.

The first victim was identified as Esmar Arroyo, 26 years old who suffered from an epileptic attack while fishing at a river in Sitio Luyan, Brgy. Matagnop in Dao, Capiz.

Arroyo's cadaver was recovered by the joint personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Roxas, Coast Guard Special Operations Group (CGSOG) and K9 Unit together with PDRRMC, BFP and PNP.

The victim’s body was brought to Villanueva Funeral Home, Dao Capiz for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, another drowning victim is still a subject of search and rescue operation of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Dingalan and Coast Guard Special Operations Unit of Northwestern Luzon in Dingalan, Aurora.

Reports revealed that a certain King Joseph Cunanan, six years old and a resident of San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija, accidentally drowned at the vicinity waters of “JRC” Resort in Brgy Butas na Bato in Dingalan, Aurora.

According to the family, Joseph was playing at the shoreline of said resort when a sudden strong wave struck him and dragged him away from the shoreline towards the sea.

The rescue team immediately proceeded to the area and conducted search and rescue operations at the vicinity waters of Brgy Butas na Bato, Dingalan, Aurora but yielded negative result.
