PCG: A total of 11 passengers were rescued from imminent drowning by the Coast Guard in Banica, Roxas City when their motor boat was battered by strong winds and rough seas. 

The survivors were onboard MBca Vickey around 1:00 PM last Saturday, January 24, bound for Banica Wharf when strong winds and big waves capsized their boat at the vicinity waters of Brgy. Punta, Cogon, Roxas. 

The personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Banica immediately responded to the incident and rescued the passengers.

The capsized motor banca was towed to Banica Wharf by MBca Map while the Coast Guard personnel returned to its proper station without any other incident being reported.
