PCG: A total of 35 boxes of cigarette products were confiscated by the joint team of Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Tinago together with Naval Intelligence Security Group Central (NISGC) and Law Enforcement Team Cebu during its inspection at Cebu port last 31 January.

Said cargoes had an estimated value amounting to PhP 1,050,000.00.

Initial report revealed that personnel of CGSS Tinago received an information stating that more or less 50 boxes of undocumented tobacco products were unloaded from MV Span Asia at Pier 5, Berth Number 10, Port of Cebu.

Joint inspection team proceeded to said port and immediately verified the cargo manifest. The team found out that there was no declaration of cargo.Β 

Accordingly, subject cargoes have no pertinent documents from agencies concerned.

The team confiscated said items and were brought to Coast Guard Station (CGS) Cebu for safe keeping and for proper documentation.

MV Span Asia, a cargo vessel with 6,016.45 GT/ 3,255.41 NT is owned and operated by Philippine Span Asia Carrier Corporation and skippered by Captain Arphy G Senining.
