PCG: 20 passengers were brought to safety by the Philippine Coast Guard after a motor banca encountered engine trouble at two nautical miles east of Barangay Dinahican, Infanta, Quezon last Sunday, 15 February.

Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Northern Quezon received a call from Mr Abelardo T Salgo, owner of MB Syvel 04, informing that his boat encountered engine trouble.

CGSS Northern Quezon immediately conducted towing operations and safely arrived at Dinahican Port with all its passengers and crew in good physical condition.

Inquiry revealed that the engine malfunctioned due to damaged transmission while the motor banca was steaming from Real, Quezon enroute to Polilio, Quezon.

MB Syvel 04, a cargo/passenger motor banca is skippered by Mr Roberto Lumbao.
