PCG. A total of 47 passengers, 12 of whom are minors, were successfully rescued by elements of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Infanta, Quezon last Saturday, February 21.

The stranded passengers were onboard M/B Merry Grace when it encountered engine trouble while underway to Barangay Anawam, Polillo, Quezon.

Reports revealed that the boat's engine shut down at around 8:00AM due to an oil leak in its injection pump.

The personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Infanta immediately conducted a Search and Rescue (SAR) operations onboard motor boat "Panukulan Express" and rescued all the stranded passengers at approximately 2 nautical miles west of Barangay Dinahican,Infanta, Quezon.

The boat was then towed to Dinahican Fish Port where the rescued passengers and crew arrived safely and in good physical condition.

M/B Merry Grace is owned and skippered by a certain Herson Galicia and manned by four crew members.
