PCG: A sachet of shabu and other drug paraphernalia, with an estimated value of P30,000, was surrendered by a boat purser in Coron, Palawan to the Coast Guard last Tuesday, March 10.

Ramily Huyo-A, purser of motor banca Bunso, approached the Pre-Departure Inspection (PDI) team of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Coron and handed-over a suspicious plastic cellophane given to him by an unknown man.

Said crew requested assistance from the Vessel Safety Inspection Team (VSEI) to open the package which was reportedly given to him by a stranger and was told that it will be picked up in El Nido by a consignee identified as a certain Roel Caabay.

The purser failed to get the identity of the shipper since the latter immediately left the area.Β 

The VSEI team discovered the following items from the package:

1) Two (2) heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance

2) Four (4) pieces of small funnel tube/test tube

3) One (1) piece cotton ball

4) One (1) piece of slit paper

5) Seven (7) pieces of Kopiko Coffee

6) One (1) yellow plastic tube

7) Three (3) pieces 3in1 Nescafe Coffee

The items were properly turned-over by CGS Coron to the OIC of PNP-Coron and P/Insp Rex Dalore Vilches. The police confirmed the contents to be metamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and drug paraphernalia.
