PCG: The Philippine Coast Guard rescued six passengers from a distressed motor boat in Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan last Saturday, March 28. 

According to Boat Captain Hadjer Amilbangsa, the boat Nurijima encountered engine trouble while underway to Rio Tuba until he lost control of the vessel a mile off the shore.

Coast Guard Station Rio Tuba personnel from immediately proceeded to the incident area upon receipt of report from a certain Fe D. Ebanez, a resident of said barangay.

The search and rescue team successfully rescued six passengers, including Amilbangsa and towed the distressed vessel towards Rio Tuba.

The rescued persons from Puerto Princesa City were all in good physical condition and were identified as follows:

1.       Vanessa Ibajan, 33 y.o.

2.       Genelyn Mawa, 28 y.o.

3.       Mary Kristine Oyao, 29 y.o.

4.       Jnith Aurello, 24 y.o.

5.       Jonathan Ibajan, 33 y.o.

6.        Hadjer Amilbangsa
