PCG: Nine days after being apprehended for smuggling imported cigarettes, MV Trishia Kerstin 2 was once again caught by the Coast Guard illegally transporting the same cargoes on April 4.
About P80,000 worth of imported cigarettes were found inside boxes marked "Irene". Said boxes were abandoned and scattered onboard the ship.
Last March 27, imported cigarettes with an estimated value of P2.2 million were discovered onboard MV Trishia Kerstin 2.
The personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Zamboanga issued a seizure receipt to the captain of the vessel for the confiscation of said smuggled imported cargoes.
The confiscated items were then brought to CGS Zamboanga for safekeeping, prior turn-over to proper authority for proper disposition.
