PCG: Four passengers were successfully rescued by the Coast Guard from a distressed motor boat at approximately 200 yards east of Barangay Simlong, Batangas on April 4.
The unidentified motor boat reportedly encountered engine trouble at the vicinity waters of Sitio Berberabe, Brgy Tabangao, Batangas City.
A certain Marlon Estelo, employee of DILG Puerto Galera requested for immediate assistance from the Coast Guard.
Coast Guard Station (CGS) Batangas personnel together with Southern Tagalog Special Operations Unit conducted SAR operations and successfully rescued the four passengers, to include the skipper.Β
The unnamed motor banca was towed to Sitio Berberabe Brgy Tabangao, Batangas City for repair and safe keeping.Β
The rescued passengers/crew were later identified as: Kenneth Gaba, 29 years old, owner/operator of the unnamed motor banca from Puerto Galera, Liezel Binilla, 35 years old, Donato Logos, 44 years old and Marvin Lago, 24 years old. All were found to be residents of Balintawak, Lipa City.
