PCG: An endangered python was confiscated by the Coast Guard from a female a passenger of Banton Liner VII who was caught transporting said reptile without pertinent documents in La Libertad, Negros Oriental.
The snake, commonly known as "Magkal", was found by the Pre-Departure Inspection team of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Libertad concealed on a spotted wooden box onboard the motor boat last Saturday, April 11.Β
Said cargo is owned by a certain Elvie Del Puerto of Sitio Sambulawan, Barangay Inayawan, Negros Occidental.
CGSS Liberated requested Del Puerto to open the box and found the three-meter long python.
The python was confiscated and turn-over by the Vessel Safety Enforcement Insepction Team to Rhodel Lababit, Superintendent of Panay Animal Protected Peninsula (PAPP) for proper custody.
