PCG: Joint elements of CGSS Maconacon, local police and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) arrested a person for illegally transporting live ammunitions and a pistol aboard a motor boat at Minanga Wharf, Maconacon, Isabela last 10 April.
Said suspect was identified as Sammy Paguirigan Y Parallag, 39 years old, married, and a resident of Barangay Fely, Maconacon in Isabela.
Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Maconacon received information from Police Senior Inspector Edgardo B Esteban, Chief of Police Maconacon that Parallag has allegedly transported a firearm that was hidden in his cargo aboard a motor boat, M/B 4Bros Queen8 transiting from San Vicente Port enroute to Barangay Minanga Wharf, Maconacon.
Personnel of CGSS Maconacon together with PNP Maconacon and BFAR, proceeded to said wharf to verify the report. Said motorbanca arrived at Minanga Wharf and upon disembarkation, PNP Maconacon invited subject person and inspected his cargo.
During the inspection, the joint team found out that a 9MM caliber pistol without trademark with serial number 1225, 11 live ammos and a 9MM pistol magazine were hidden inside a sack of rice.
Parallag was immediately apprehended while the firearm and ammunitions were confiscated to serve as evidences. Said suspect was then placed under the custody of PNP Maconacon for proper disposition.
