PCG: Coast Guard in Camarines Norte rescued eight passengers and three crew members of an unnamed motor banca at the vicinity waters of Calaguas Island in Camarines Norte last Sunday April 19.

Reports from the Clearing Out Post (COP) Vinzon in Camarines Norte disclosed that the unnamed motor banca encountered engine trouble at said vicinity causing it to drift towards Maculabo Island, Paracale, Camarines Norte. 

Initial information also revealed that the victims were underway back to Vinzons, Camarines Norte from island hopping when the incident transpired.

Immediately, the team conducted search and rescue operations onboard aluminum boat and sighted subject motor banca at vicinity more or less 5 nautical miles off Brgy Maculabo Island. The passengers and crew members were transferred to the aluminum boat and towed the ill-fated motor banca to Brgy Sula, Vinzons, Camarines Norte. All rescued persons were in good physical condition.
