PCG: The personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Dumangas have recovered the cadaver of a 17-year old boy who drowned unnoticed last Thursday at the shoreline of Sitio Naluoyan, Barangay Sapao in Dumangas, Iloilo.
The victim Axel John Dema-Ala Dimzon was reportedly swimming with his friends in the evening of April 23 when he disappeared. His friend Issayah Delicana presumed that the victim went home.
Around 10:30 am of Friday, CGSS Dumangas received information through marine band radio from Capt. Randy Magango, master of RoRo vessel MV Lolita, stating that they saw a floating body 100 meters off the ship in Dumangas Port.
The Coast Guard personnel immediately conducted a retrieval operation and coordinated with the local police for the proper turn-over of the cadaver.
The body was positively identified by his friends and was later brought to Divinagracia-Lajon Funeral Parlor for autopsy.
