PCG: Two orphanages in San Fernando, La Union benefited from the generosity of the Philippine Coast Guard as it launched a post-anniversary gift-giving and feeding program this week.

In time with its 31st founding anniversary, the Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon (CGDNWLZN) extended its benevolence to the Life and More Abundant Ministry (LAMA) and Christian Praise Children's Home (CPCH).

The yearly activity aims to improve and fill the nutritional gaps that are common among orphans.

CAPT LEOVIGILDO PANOPIO PCG, Commander of CGDNWLZN, believes that eradicating nutritional gaps among the orphans cannot be solved overnight, but taking action and assisting in their basic needs may curve the problem.

Children under the care of orphanages are seen to have insufficient sustenance, thus, impeding their opportunities in education and a better future. Β

Officers and personnel of CGDNWLZN donated assorted clothes, stuffed toys, various medicines, school supplies, hygiene kit, various sizes of slippers and 16 sacks of rice to the said orphanages.
