PCG: Two divers were saved by rescue team of BRP San Juan (SARV-001), a PCG search and rescue vessel, while conducting maritime security patrol at the east section of Boracay Island, Aklan on May 12.

The rescuers sighted two persons floating on the water two nautical miles southeast off Bulaboc Point, Boracay Island.

SARV-001 immediately launched a rubber boat with rescue team onboard and brought the divers to safety. They were then transferred aboard SARV-001 for immediate medical assistance by PCG medical team led by Commander Alexis J Calderon MC PCG. He declared the rescued divers to be in good physical condition.

The victims were identified as Darwin V Tejada, 22 years old, dive master of Calypso Diving School and Jinichi Okada, 36 years old, and a resident of Tokyo, Japan who went diving southeast off Boracay Island.
